Most heaters try to warm up the air around you. The problem is, if there’s a breeze, that warm air just blows away. Our infrared heaters work differently. Getting them into your smart home
Connecting these to your smart home is pretty straightforward, but you’ll need a reliable relay or a smart controller to bridge the gap. Just wire the heater into a Zigbee or Matter-enabled switch, and you’re set. Now you can just tell your voice assistant to turn on the heat or tap a button on your phone before you even walk outside. One quick tip:**don’t cheap out on the wiring.**These heaters pull a lot of power. If you use thin, flimsy cables, you’ll end up with a voltage drop or, worse, wires that get dangerously hot. Go with heavy-gauge wiring. It’s safer and it just works better.
A few things to keep in mind
Here’s the trade-off: that IP66 seal that keeps the rain out also traps heat inside the casing. Because of that, you can’t just tuck these units into a tight corner. They need room to breathe. If you crowd the vents or mount the heater too close to a wall or a wooden beam, the internal safety switch will trip and shut everything down to prevent a burnout. It’s a built-in safety feature, but it can be a pain if you didn’t plan your space correctly. Just give the unit some breathing room during installation, and you won’t have any issues.
