
Making Bathroom Heaters That Actually Make Sense
When you’re building a heater for a bathroom, just slapping an IP66 rating on it isn’t enough. Sure, keeping the water out of the electronics is a must, but there’s something much more important to think about: the people using it. Especially when there are babies in the picture. The problem with the light Most standard infrared lamps are just… blinding. They have this harsh, aggressive glare that’s uncomfortable for adults, let alone an infant whose eyes are still developing. Nobody wants a bathroom that feels like an interrogation room. So, we changed how the light works. By using specific filament coatings and special quartz glass, we can filter out those nasty UV frequencies and that piercing brightness. The result? A soft, warm glow. You still get all that cozy heat on your skin, but without the “I need sunglasses in the shower” feeling. Keeping it dry (and cool) An IP66 rating is great—it means the unit can handle a direct blast of water without breaking a sweat. We use reinforced polymer casings and high-temp silicone gaskets to seal everything up tight. These materials are tough, which is key because they have to expand and shrink every time the heater turns on and off without cracking. But here’s the catch: when you seal a box that tight, the heat has nowhere to go. If you aren’t careful, the inside of the housing can get way too hot, which is a great way to fry your wiring. That’s why we spend so much time on the internal heat sink. It’s all about making sure the guts of the machine stay cool while the outside does its job. Getting it installed We wanted these to be easy. We designed them to slide right into standard ceiling fixtures, so you don’t have to tear apart your bathroom to get them in. We’ve balanced the power and the size so you get a concentrated burst of heat without needing a massive, ugly fixture on the ceiling. When you flip the switch, it kicks in fast. You feel the warmth immediately, but the light stays gentle. It’s just a better, safer way to stay warm.
