
Why we stopped building “disposable” bathroom heaters
Most infrared heaters are basically sealed boxes. They work great—until they don’t. After a few years of steam, humidity, and heating up and cooling down a thousand times, a tube eventually burns out. And since everything is glued or soldered shut, you can’t fix it. You just throw the whole thing in the trash. That feels wrong to us. So we changed how we build them.
The “Plug-and-Play” approach
We decided to ditch the fixed assembly. Instead of permanent adhesives and messy soldering, we switched to standardized quick-connect terminals. Here’s why that matters: if a tube dies, you don’t have to rip the entire fixture off your wall. You just pop out the broken element and slide in a new one. It takes a technician maybe ten minutes.**Ten minutes.**Compare that to the nightmare of uninstalling a dead unit and starting from scratch.
Dealing with the damp
Bathrooms are brutal on electronics. You’ve got rapid temperature swings and constant moisture. To fight that, we use quartz glass with a special coating to keep corrosion away. But let’s be real—even with the best coatings, electrical contacts still take a beating over time. By making the module easy to get into, you can actually check the wiring for oxidation without having to tear the whole chassis apart. It’s just common sense.
The trade-off
Now, this isn’t a magic fix. There is a catch. Modular systems need a bit more room for those connectors and frames. Because of that, our heaters sit a little deeper on the wall than a welded, integrated unit would. But for anyone managing a building, it’s an easy choice. A replacement tube costs next to nothing. The labor cost of ripping out and replacing an entire wall installation? That’s where the real money disappears. We built these for the long haul, where keeping the heat on is the only thing that actually matters.
